Portable field kit for lubricant analysis. Lubricant analysis is an important part of a predictive maintenance strategy. Until recently, only oils were almost always analysed, despite the fact that around 80% of bearings are lubricated with grease. Expertise in tribology and years of research have enabled SKF to develop a complete lubricant condition assessment methodology. This kit is extremely useful in field decision-making processes and allows the lubricant relubrication intervals to be set according to real-world conditions. It enables the suitability of certain lubricants for specific applications to be verified and helps prevent damage due to underperforming greases. No special training is required to perform the tests. It does not require any harmful chemicals. Only 0.5 g of lubricant is required to perform all tests.
