V-belts - the group of belts with a V-belt profile includes single, multiple, variator, double-sided (hexagonal) and ribbed (multi-link) belts, which are a combination of V-belts and flat belts. The principle of power transmission is to wedge the sides (working surfaces) of the belts into the pulleys. The belt must be properly tensioned and must not sit on the bottom of the straps.This ensures that when one pulley moves, frictional forces are generated on the sides of the belt which set the other pulleys in the gears in motion.
